Dual Molex to PCIe 8(6+2) pin adapter

This EN-Labs cable adapts two Molex 4-pin connectors from a power supply into a single PCIe 8(6+2)-pin plug for a graphics card. It is intended for builders whose PSU lacks native PCIe power leads but has spare Molex headers available. The 6+2 pin design fits both 6-pin and 8-pin GPU sockets. The assembly measures six inches end to end.

18AWG conductors and 12 V DC rating

The cable uses 18AWG tinned copper wire rated for 12 V DC delivery. Two Molex sources combine to feed one PCIe connector, giving enough headroom for mid-range cards that draw up to the 8-pin specification limit. It will not suit high-end GPUs that require two or three dedicated PCIe cables from the PSU, nor cards needing 12VHPWR connections.

Six-inch reach and fixed Molex spacing

At six inches long the adapter only bridges components that sit close together inside the chassis. The dual Molex pigtail spacing is fixed, so widely separated PSU cables may not both reach. The 6+2 pin end splits for 6-pin or 8-pin use, but the wire gauge and connector count limit total current to what two Molex circuits and 18AWG wire can safely carry.
