Digital-to-Analog Audio Converter

The ESTONE unit converts digital audio from three sources — Bluetooth 5.0, Toslink optical and USB — into simultaneous stereo analogue outputs on RCA phono sockets and a 3.5 mm jack. A built-in DAC chip handles PCM and LPCM streams at sampling rates of 32, 44.1, 48, 96 and 192 kHz with 24-bit depth. The box also plays MP3, WAV, APE, FLAC and WMA files directly from a USB flash drive. An IR remote and USB power cable are included.

Home-audio integrators and headphone listeners

Buyers who need to connect a TV, games console, Blu-ray player or phone to a legacy amplifier or active speakers will find the required optical, USB and wireless inputs in one compact device. The headphone amplifier delivers 125 mW per channel into 32 ohms and supports impedances from 16 to 300 ohms, so most headphones can be driven directly. Users who require HDMI input, multi-channel surround decoding or balanced XLR outputs should consider a different product class.

192 kHz / 24-bit PCM support

The maximum sampling rate of 192 kHz at 24-bit resolution over the optical and coaxial inputs is the single specification that determines whether high-resolution stereo sources will be reproduced at their native quality. If your source material exceeds this rate or uses formats other than PCM and LPCM, the converter will not decode it.

Questions about this item

What connectors must my amplifier have for the RCA and 3.5mm outputs?

The converter provides stereo L/R RCA plugs and a 3.5mm headphone jack, so your amplifier needs matching RCA inputs or a 3.5mm auxiliary input.

Which input do I select first when switching between Bluetooth 5.0, Toslink and USB sources?

Use the included IR remote to choose the active input — Bluetooth, optical Toslink or USB — before playing audio; the common mistake is leaving the previous source selected.

What headphone impedance range is supported for the 3.5mm output?

The headphone amplifier delivers 125mW per channel at 32ohm and is rated for headphones between 16 and 300ohm.
