What it does and who needs it

This ESTONE adapter converts an HDMI 2.0 source into a DisplayPort 1.4 signal for monitors that only accept DP input. It supports resolutions up to 3840x2160 at 60 Hz and works with consoles such as PS5 or Xbox as well as PCs and laptops. A separate DisplayPort cable is required but not included. The unit is not reversible and cannot be used for DP-to-HDMI connections.

Sustained-load behaviour

The adapter draws power from a USB port to maintain a stable 4K 60 Hz link during long gaming or streaming sessions. Without the USB connection the signal may drop or become unstable under continuous load. Plug-and-play operation means no driver installation is needed, so the link remains consistent once powered. Two display modes are available: mirrored output or extended desktop when the source is a computer.
