What the OZF2 splitter does

The ESTONE OZF2 is a 1x2 HDMI splitter that takes one HDMI source and duplicates the signal to two displays simultaneously. It supports video resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. Audio formats including DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD and DSD are passed through without alteration. The unit is HDCP 1.2 compliant but not compatible with HDCP 2.2.

How it fits into a setup

The splitter requires a USB power connection using the supplied cable; no external driver or power brick is needed. One HDMI input feeds two HDMI outputs, each capable of driving a display up to the stated resolution limits. The compact 5.59 x 3.15 x 1.26 inch enclosure and 3.2 ounce weight make it easy to place behind equipment or carry in a laptop bag. It does not function as a switch, so multiple sources cannot be selected for a single screen.

Behaviour under sustained load

The 18.5 Gbps bandwidth handles continuous 4K 30 Hz or 1080p 60 Hz streams without signal degradation. Deep colour up to 36 bit is maintained across both outputs during extended use. The built-in signal retiming and amplification keep the duplicated image stable over cable runs up to the recommended 25 ft maximum. HDCP 1.2 handshake remains active for protected content playback sessions.
