What this splitter does

The ESTONE OZV8-1 takes one HDMI source and sends the video to a display while pulling the audio out to optical TOSLINK and 3.5 mm analogue jacks. It handles 4K at 60 Hz with 18 Gbps bandwidth and supports HDR10, 3D and deep colour up to 36 bit. The unit is aimed at installers and home-theatre owners who need separate audio paths for a soundbar, AV receiver or powered speakers.

How the bundled items change the setup

A 5 V/1 A power adapter is included so the extractor works immediately without hunting for a spare USB charger. The short user manual explains the three EDID modes that select 2.0-channel stereo, 5.1-channel digital or pass-through audio, letting you match the output to the connected gear in seconds.

Build and daily connections

An aluminium shell measuring 5.59 by 3.15 by 1.26 inches and weighing 3.2 ounces dissipates heat without a fan. One HDMI input accepts cables up to 10 metres AWG26, while the single HDMI output drives another 10-metre run. The optical and 3.5 mm ports sit side by side for tidy routing to both a digital receiver and an analogue zone simultaneously.

Questions about this item

Will the 5V/1A power adapter need replacing before the extractor itself fails?

The unit draws up to 350 mA from the included 5V/1A adapter, so the supply has headroom and should last the life of the extractor under normal use.

Does the 18 Gbps bandwidth limit 4K 60 Hz HDR signals before the 10 m cable limit does?

The 18 Gbps ceiling matches HDMI 2.0 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4, so bandwidth is not the first bottleneck; cable quality at 10 m AWG26 will limit reach first.

Does the aluminum case stay cool and silent when powered 24/7?

With only 350 mA max draw and no fan, the metal enclosure runs warm but stays well within safe temperatures and produces no audible noise.
