ESTONE OZV8-1A HDMI Audio Extractor

The ESTONE OZV8-1A extracts audio from a single HDMI source and delivers it through both optical Toslink and 3.5 mm analogue outputs while passing the video signal to a display. It supports 4K resolution at 60 Hz with 18 Gbps bandwidth and HDCP 2.2 compliance. The unit includes an HDMI cable, optical cable and USB power adapter.

Home-theatre users separating sound from video

This extractor suits anyone who needs to feed a soundbar, amplifier or headphones from an HDMI source without keeping a TV powered on. It also works for setups requiring simultaneous optical and analogue audio outputs. Buyers who need multiple HDMI inputs or switching between sources should look at a different device.

Sustained 4K 60 Hz operation with ARC

The converter maintains stable 4K 60 Hz video pass-through and audio extraction during extended sessions thanks to its HDMI 2.0b chipset and external USB power. ARC support allows return audio from a compatible display without extra cabling. Supported digital formats include DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD and LPCM 7.1, though Dolby Digital Plus is not supported.

Questions about this item

Does the OZV8-1A need an external power supply to extract audio from an HDMI source?

Yes, a USB power adapter is included and must be connected for the extractor to operate.

Will the extractor pass 1080p at 120 Hz or 144 Hz to an older monitor while still sending audio to a soundbar?

The unit supports 1080p at 120 Hz and 144 Hz on the HDMI output, so the monitor receives the high-refresh signal while audio is split to SPDIF or 3.5 mm.

How can I confirm ARC is active after connecting the extractor between my TV and soundbar?

Play TV audio; if sound comes from the soundbar through the optical or 3.5 mm output without the TV speakers active, ARC is working.
