Solar Post Cap Lights for 4x4 Posts

These solar-powered post cap lights fit 3.5-inch square posts and come in a two-pack with a black finish. They use warm LED illumination housed in decorative ridged glass for accent lighting on decks and porches. No wiring is required for installation.

Check Post Dimensions and Mounting Surface

Verify that your existing posts measure 3.5 inches square so the caps seat correctly. Ensure the mounting surface is flat and receives direct sunlight for the integrated solar panel to charge the 1.2-volt system during the day. The included screws suit wood posts; other materials may need different fasteners.

Adds Automatic Dusk-to-Dawn Lighting

Each unit contains a light sensor that activates the LEDs at night and turns them off while charging in daylight. The self-contained design frees you from running low-voltage cable or connecting to a transformer. The glass housing and black finish are built for outdoor weather resistance.

Questions about this item

Does the 2-pack include mounting screws for 3.5 in posts or must I buy hardware separately?

The two lights ship with mounting screws so you can install them on 3.5 in posts right out of the box.

How do I decide between the 12 in length and the 7 in height when matching my posts?

The 12 in length spans the post top while the 7 in height is the cap profile; choose based on which dimension your 4x4 post requires.

What does the 1.2 voltage rating mean for nightly run time once the cap is mounted?

The 1.2 V solar cell charges the internal battery by day and powers the warm LEDs automatically from dusk until the stored energy is depleted.
