A 10 GbE short-range SFP+ fibre transceiver for BladeSystem switches
This HP 10GbE SR SFP+ fibre transceiver is built for blade-system networking. It provides a 10 Gbps short-range optical link inside compatible HP BladeSystem enclosures. Network administrators expanding blade interconnects will find the module matches the required form factor and wavelength for intra-rack connections. The part carries identifiers 455883-B21, 455885-001 and 456096-001 for inventory tracking.
The transceiver inserts directly into an SFP+ slot on a supported blade switch module without tools. Hot-plug capability means the enclosure stays powered while the link is added or replaced. Compatibility is limited to HP BladeSystem platforms that list these part numbers; the module will not function in standard rack switches or non-HP cages. Buyers who need long-range optics or a different vendor ecosystem must select another module.

Check the link LED on the switch module port; a steady green light confirms a valid 10 Gbps fibre connection.
The transceiver is supplied alone; compatible OM3 or OM4 duplex LC patch cables must be sourced separately.
