14-inch business laptop with Core i5 4th Gen

The HP EliteBook 840G1 is a 14-inch laptop powered by a 1.60 GHz Intel Core i5 4th Gen processor and 4GB of DDR3 memory. It runs Windows 10 Home 64 Bit on a 240GB SSD and includes a non-touch display, integrated graphics, a webcam, and 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN. The system ships with an AC adapter and a tested lithium-ion battery.

Upgrade from slower HDD systems or 2GB memory

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the 240GB SSD cuts boot and application load times dramatically. Moving from 2GB to the installed 4GB DDR3 allows smoother multitasking for office applications and web browsing. The jump is worth it when your current laptop stalls on basic productivity tasks or takes minutes to reach the desktop.

Check memory slots and OS requirements before

The motherboard provides two memory slots and supports a maximum of 16GB DDR3, so you can add a second module later. Verify that your essential software runs on Windows 10 Home 64 Bit, as the digital licence activates automatically on first boot. Confirm that 802.11a/b/g wireless meets your network environment, because newer Wi-Fi standards are not supported.
