Business-ready 15.6 laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G7 delivers a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10610U quad-core processor, 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD in a 15.6 inch FHD chassis. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment. Professionals needing a portable office machine with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity will find the specification matches daily productivity workloads.

Upgrade from dual-core ultraportables

Moving from a two-core device to this four-core, eight-thread CPU adds headroom for simultaneous video calls, spreadsheets and browser tabs. The jump is worth it when current hardware stutters under multi-tasking or when a faster NVMe drive cuts application load times. Buyers who need discrete graphics or user-replaceable memory should consider other form factors.

Sustained office workloads

The 15W processor maintains base clocks during long document editing, email and web sessions without thermal throttling. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares system memory, so heavy 3D rendering or gaming frames will drop. Fan noise stays low under typical business use, while the 512GB NVMe PCIe drive keeps read and write speeds consistent across extended file transfers.

Questions about this item

How many M.2 slots does the 512 GB NVMe drive occupy in this EliteBook 850 G7?

The laptop ships with a single 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD installed; the board provides one M.2 slot for the boot drive, so that slot is occupied.

What is the correct order to install Windows 11 Pro on the NVMe SSD after a clean wipe?

Boot from the Windows 11 Pro installation media, choose the 512 GB NVMe drive as the target, and let Setup create its own partitions; the Intel RST driver is not required for this model.

Which parts are most likely to need replacement after heavy daily use of this Grade B unit?

The 8 GB DDR4 memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded; the 512 GB NVMe SSD and the battery are the only user-replaceable components that typically wear out first.
