Versatile 2-in-1 for mobile professionals

The HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5 G6 is a 13.3-inch convertible notebook with a 360-degree hinge. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with Intel UHD Graphics 620. The touch-enabled FHD IPS panel uses Corning Gorilla Glass. 16 GB of onboard DDR4 memory and a 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD complete the core specification.

Step up from dual-core ultraportables

This configuration replaces older dual-core ultraportables that struggle with multitasking. The jump is worth it when you need four cores and eight threads for simultaneous workloads such as video calls, browser tabs and office suites. The 1.7 GHz base clock reaches 3.6 GHz with Turbo Boost. Buyers who want more storage than 128 GB or discrete graphics for creative rendering should look elsewhere.

Straightforward deployment with soldered memory

The device arrives ready to use with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed; no internal assembly is required. RAM is soldered so capacity cannot be increased later. The spill-resistant keyboard with drain design reduces liquid-damage risk. Thunderbolt ports support docks and external displays, but verify your peripherals match the available USB-C and HDMI connections before purchase.

Questions about this item

What are the dimensions of the 13.3" touchscreen that must clear the 360-degree hinge?

The 13.3-inch FHD IPS panel measures 1920 x 1080 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, requiring a bezel opening that matches the ultra-slim UWVA form factor.

How is the onboard 16 GB DDR42133 memory installed, and what mistake should be avoided?

The 16 GB DDR42133 SDRAM is soldered to the motherboard; do not attempt to open the chassis to add or replace modules because no SO-DIMM slots exist.

Which storage component will need replacement when the 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD wears out?

The 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD is the only internal drive; when it reaches its write endurance limit, it must be swapped for another M.2 NVMe module.
