Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 access point

The HPE Networking Instant On AP22D is a desktop or wall-mountable wireless access point designed for small-business environments that need managed Wi-Fi without a dedicated controller. It operates on 2.40 GHz and 5 GHz bands using the IEEE 802.11ax standard and includes an internal power supply for simple deployment.

1.70 Gbit/s aggregate throughput

Two internal antennas and MIMO technology deliver a combined wireless data rate of 1.70 Gbit/s, suitable for typical office densities and guest access. Five RJ-45 ports provide one 2.5 Gigabit uplink and four Gigabit ports for wired clients or mesh links, while the unit draws up to 50 W from its integrated supply.

Built-in Instant On cloud management

The bundled Instant On mobile app and web portal give remote configuration, firmware updates and client insights without on-premises hardware. Four of the Ethernet ports support PoE passthrough so the access point can power downstream devices such as IP phones or cameras from a single cable run.

Questions about this item

Will the AP22D's 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports work with my existing Gigabit switches and cabling?

Yes, the five RJ-45 ports auto-negotiate down to Gigabit speeds so they connect directly to older switches and Cat5e cables without configuration.

How can I verify the AP22D is delivering Wi-Fi 6 performance after installation?

Open the Instant On mobile app or web portal; it shows connected clients, the 802.11ax link rate up to 1.70 Gbit/s, and real-time throughput for each band.

Does the S0J32A package include the power supply and mounting hardware for wall installation?

The box contains the AP22D unit, a 50 W power adapter, and brackets for desktop or wall mounting; no separate PoE injector or mount kit is required.
