Outdoor Wi‑Fi 6 access point for small businesses

The HPE Networking Instant On AP27 S1T36A is a dual‑band 802.11ax access point built for outdoor deployment. It targets small and growing businesses that need to extend wireless coverage to patios, loading bays or curbside areas without running separate power cables.

PoE‑powered design simplifies mounting

The unit draws power through 802.3at class 4 or 802.3af class 3 PoE, and also accepts a 12 V DC supply, so no local mains outlet is required. A single GbE uplink carries both data and power, while the IP67‑rated enclosure and Kensington slot let you secure the device on walls or poles in exposed locations.

Reliable throughput in temperature extremes

Operating from ‑40 °F to 149 °F, the AP27 maintains consistent 2x2 MIMO performance through freezing winters and hot summers. Wi‑Fi Certified 6 and ClientMatch keep multiple clients connected with efficient airtime use, avoiding the drop‑offs that occur when consumer gear overheats or ices up.

Questions about this item

Will the IP67-rated enclosure handle continuous outdoor exposure in freezing winters and hot summers?

The AP27 operates from -40 °F to 149 °F and meets IP67, so it withstands year-round outdoor conditions.

How much heat or noise does the AP27 generate when powered by PoE all day?

The unit has no fan and draws power through PoE 802.3at or 802.3af, so it runs silently with minimal heat.

What must I already have on site to power and mount this access point?

You need a PoE+ injector or switch port (802.3at Class 4) and a wall or pole; the box includes a mount bracket and Ethernet cable.
