Indoor Wi-Fi 5 access point for small to medium

The HPE Networking Instant On AP15 (R2X05A) is a dual-radio indoor wireless access point built for small and medium environments. It delivers simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation with combined data rates up to 2 Gbps. The unit supports 802.11ac Wave 2 with 4x4 MU-MIMO on the 5 GHz band and 2x2 MIMO on the 2.4 GHz band. It is suited for offices, clinics or retail sites needing reliable coverage for video, voice and conferencing.

PoE-powered unit with single Gigabit uplink

The access point draws power through its single Gigabit Ethernet port using 802.3af PoE (class 3) or an optional 12 V DC supply, neither of which is included in the box. This single-cable approach frees the installer from running separate mains wiring to the mounting location. A web-based GUI and configuration templates allow the device to be provisioned in minutes, while clustering automatically replicates settings across multiple units and promotes a secondary AP if the primary fails.

Plenum-rated enclosure with medical certifications

The chassis carries a UL 2043 plenum rating and meets EN 60601-1-1 and EN 60601-1-2 for deployment in healthcare settings. Integrated downtilt omni-directional antennas provide 3.6 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz and 6.0 dBi at 5 GHz. With no moving parts, the unit operates silently. Typical power draw stays within the 802.3af class 3 budget, so thermal output is minimal in normal use.
