Compact 5.25" cage for four 2.5" SATA drives

This cage fits a single 5.25" bay and holds four 2.5" SATA drives up to 12.5 mm thick. It is built for servers or workstations that need hot-swap storage density without using 3.5" bays. RAID 0, 1, 5 or JBOD can be configured at the controller level. The tray-less design lets drives slide straight into the backplane.

SATA 6.0 Gb/s backplane limits throughput

Each drive connects through a SATA 6.0 Gb/s backplane, so the practical ceiling is the SATA III link speed. Four drives share the same bay width, so aggregate bandwidth depends on the host controller and cable routing. The cage itself does not add RAID logic; it only passes the native SATA signals. Drives thicker than 12.5 mm will not fit the slots.

Tool-free install with key-lock security

Drives insert and eject without tools, and the front key lock prevents accidental removal. Blue LEDs show power and per-drive activity at a glance. Common issues are seating drives fully so the SATA connectors engage, and ensuring the host backplane cables are firmly latched. The plastic handle with metal latch survives repeated swaps but can crack if forced.
