Converts an HDMI 2.0 source to a DisplayPort 1.4 display at 4K 60 Hz or 1080p up to 144 Hz with 7.1-channel audio
This active adapter converts an HDMI 2.0 source to a DisplayPort 1.4 display. It suits users connecting laptops, consoles or a Mac Mini to a DP monitor for video and audio. The package includes the converter and a USB power cable. It is not bi-directional and cannot drive an HDMI display from a DP source.
The adapter only works from HDMI input to DisplayPort output. Supported timings include 3840×2160 at 60 Hz, 1920×1080 at 144 Hz and 120 Hz, plus 1080p at 60 Hz. HDCP 2.2 content protection is passed through. Both extended and mirror display modes are available.
A USB power lead is required for reliable operation with all sources. The male HDMI plug and female DP socket create a fixed cable direction, so the converter sits at the source end. Audio carries 7.1 channel surround at up to 192 kHz sample rate. No driver installation is needed on supported systems.

This single adapter handles both; it outputs 4K at 60 Hz and 1080p at up to 144 Hz depending on your monitor and source.
You get 3840×2160 at 60 Hz with 7.1-channel audio at 192 kHz, provided the HDMI source and DisplayPort monitor both support those modes.
The HDMI 2.0 input caps bandwidth at the 4K 60 Hz level, so higher refresh rates are only available at 1080p; the DP 1.4 output does not raise that ceiling.
