It is intended for owners of soundbars, AV receivers or powered speakers that lack HDMI inputs. Builders who need multi-channel HDMI audio passthrough without extraction should look elsewhere.

18 Gbps Bandwidth And 4K60 Support

The unit handles video up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz with 24, 30 or 36-bit deep colour and 18 Gbps bandwidth. It also supports 1080p, 720p, 576p, 480p and 480i resolutions plus 3D formats. Optical output carries DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, LPCM 7.1, DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1, while the 3.5 mm jack is limited to two-channel PCM. Sources that output only Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby Atmos will not deliver audio through this device.

Aluminium Shell With External Power

A black aluminium enclosure measuring 5.59 x 3.15 x 1.26 inches houses the circuitry and weighs 3.2 ounces. The splitter requires the included 5 V 1 A DC adapter for operation. Input cables up to 10 metres using AWG26 standard HDMI cable are supported. No cooling fan is present, so the unit runs silently in normal use.
