DisplayPort 1.4 Fiber Cable

The Jansicotek TJ-A013 is a sixteen foot fiber optic DisplayPort 1.4 cable designed for users who need high resolution video and audio over longer distances than copper cables can reliably cover. It connects a DisplayPort source such as a graphics card or laptop to a monitor, projector or VR headset with a male to male layout. VESA certification confirms compliance with the DisplayPort 1.4 standard.

Bandwidth and Distance Limits

Fiber construction allows the cable to carry 32.4 Gbps without the signal degradation that limits passive copper cables at this length. The optical link supports 8K at 60 Hz, 5K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, 2K at 240 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with Dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.2. Backwards compatibility with DisplayPort 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1 is maintained, but the cable is directional and must be installed with the Source plug at the GPU and the Display plug at the monitor.

Directional Installation Requirement

The single specification that decides fit is the fixed source to display orientation; reversing the connectors will result in no signal. Gold plated contacts and a zinc alloy shell protect the terminations, while the four core optical fiber and single Al-Mylar foil shield maintain integrity across the full sixteen foot run.
