Jansicotek TJ-A055 USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable

This 10 ft cable connects a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 source to a DisplayPort 1.4 display. It supports resolutions up to 7680x4320 at 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR and 3840x2160 at 144 Hz. The unidirectional design carries video from the host device to the monitor only. It suits gamers, creative professionals and anyone needing high-refresh-rate output over a single cable.

Check your host port and display input before

The source must provide DisplayPort Alternate Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4 over its USB-C port; plain USB-C data ports will not drive video. The display requires a native DisplayPort 1.4 input. Verify that your graphics driver and operating system are current to enable 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz modes. The cable is not bidirectional and cannot connect a DisplayPort source to a USB-C monitor.

Triple-shielded construction

VESA-certified DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps is delivered through HBR3, DSC 1.2 and HDCP 2.2/1.4 support. The male-to-male connectors lock securely on the DisplayPort side and fit standard USB-C ports. The 10 ft length allows flexible desk routing without signal degradation at the listed refresh rates up to 240 Hz at 2560x1440.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and is anything else required to use the 10 ft cable?

The box contains the 10 ft USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable with male-to-male connectors. No additional adapters or cables are required; plug the USB-C end into a Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB-C video source and the DisplayPort end into a monitor.

Which resolution and refresh-rate combination should I pick for a 4K 144 Hz gaming monitor?

The cable supports 4K at 144 Hz, 120 Hz and 60 Hz. For a 4K 144 Hz monitor, select 3840x2160 at 144 Hz in your OS display settings; the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and DSC 1.2 handle the signal without compression artefacts.

What does the 8K 60 Hz headline figure mean when the cable is connected to a real laptop and monitor?

If both the source (Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB-C DP Alt Mode) and the display support 7680x4320 at 60 Hz, the cable will deliver that resolution at 10-bit HDR. Otherwise it falls back to the highest common mode such as 4K 144 Hz or 2K 240 Hz.
