Compact passive stereo pair

The Kanto YUP4W is a white two-channel bookshelf speaker pair designed for listeners who want a neutral, balanced tone from a compact cabinet. Each enclosure uses a four-inch Kevlar woofer and a one-inch silk dome tweeter to cover a 60 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The eight-ohm nominal impedance and 86 dB sensitivity suit a wide range of external amplifiers. They arrive new and are sold as a matched pair.

Check amplifier power and mounting plans

Verify that your amplifier or receiver can drive a four-ohm load and supply up to 70 watts per channel for clean headroom. The speakers have binding-post connectors and a bottom-mounted quarter-inch twenty threaded hole for compatible Kanto stands, so decide whether you will use desktop placement, the 26-inch or 32-inch stand options, or another stable surface. No remote control is included, so volume and source switching must be handled at the amplifier.

Upgrade from smaller desktop or TV speakers

These replace built-in monitor audio, basic computer speakers, or entry-level soundbars when a wider soundstage and more accurate timbre are the goal. The jump is worth it if you already own or plan to buy a quality integrated amp or DAC-amp combo and want a passive system that can also serve as surround or height channels in a home theatre. They are not for buyers who need powered speakers with built-in amplification or wireless streaming.

Questions about this item

Does the Kanto YUP4W pair include an amplifier or speaker cables?

The speakers are passive and require an external amplifier or receiver; cables are not included.

Should I choose the 26-inch or 32-inch Kanto stands for these speakers?

Both 26-inch and 32-inch low-profile stands fit the bottom-mounted 1/4"-20 thread; pick the height that puts the tweeter at ear level.

What does the 86 dB sensitivity mean when I connect these 4-ohm speakers to my amplifier?

At 86 dB sensitivity the pair needs moderate amplifier power to reach loud volumes; ensure your amp is rated for 4-ohm loads and can deliver up to 70 watts per channel.
