Pair of passive bookshelf speakers

The Kanto YUP6 is a two-channel passive bookshelf pair finished in black. Each cabinet uses a 5.25-inch Kevlar woofer and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter to deliver a neutral, balanced tone with a frequency response of 50Hz to 20kHz and sensitivity of 89 dB. Nominal impedance is 6 Ohms with power handling rated at 100 Watts per channel. They require an external amplifier or receiver to operate.

Amplifier match and placement check

Verify your amplifier can supply 100 W per channel into a 6 Ohm load for full performance. Ensure you have speaker cable and binding posts or banana plugs for the connection. A bottom-mounted 1/4-20 threaded hole accepts compatible Kanto stands for secure positioning on a desktop or in a dedicated listening station. Confirm available shelf or stand space for the cabinets before ordering.

Mounting thread and system flexibility

The integrated 1/4-20 threaded hole allows direct attachment to matching Kanto stands, improving stability and acoustic coupling without extra hardware. This mounting point supports desktop use with a DAC and amp combo, integration into a two-channel hi-fi system, or deployment as rear or height channels in a home theatre setup. No remote control is included; volume and source switching are handled by the connected amplifier.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Kanto YUP6 pair and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains a pair of passive bookshelf speakers with 5.25-inch Kevlar woofers and 1-inch silk dome tweeters. An external amplifier or receiver capable of 100 W per channel into 6 ohms and speaker cable are required but not included.

How do I decide between the black and white finish options for the YUP6?

Both finishes share identical 5.25-inch Kevlar drivers, 1-inch silk dome tweeters, 6 ohm impedance, 89 dB sensitivity and 100 W power handling. Choose black or white solely to match your room aesthetic.

What does the 100 W power handling mean when the YUP6 is connected to a real amplifier?

It means the speakers are rated to handle up to 100 watts per channel from an amplifier driving a 6 ohm load, delivering a frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz at 89 dB sensitivity for realistic, uncoloured sound.
