Compact desktop for office workloads

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny arrives as a complete all-in-one system with a 24-inch FHD IPS display built in. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor running at 3.20 GHz with turbo up to 4.60 GHz handles everyday business applications. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard plus mouse are included.

Micro form factor frees desk space

The micro chassis measures only 720 mm in its smallest dimension and uses a 2.5-inch 512 GB SSD, leaving no room for additional 3.5-inch drives. Memory slots accept DDR4 UDIMM modules up to 32 GB total, so the supplied 8 GB can be expanded later. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives the included monitor without a discrete card, and a USB Wi-Fi/BT dongle provides wireless connectivity.

Sustained performance within 65 W envelope

The 65 W processor maintains 4.60 GHz boost clocks only while thermal headroom allows; prolonged multi-threaded loads will settle at lower frequencies. Passive cooling in the tiny chassis limits extended heavy compute such as video rendering or large dataset processing. Buyers needing continuous high throughput or discrete graphics should consider larger workstation formats.

Questions about this item

Does the 65 W Intel Core i7-8700 throttle under sustained full-load work?

The processor is rated at 65 W with a 4.60 GHz turbo ceiling; in the 1-litre Tiny chassis sustained all-core speeds will settle below that peak once the thermal limit is reached.

How loud and hot does the M720q get when it runs all day?

The compact case uses a single small fan; expect audible airflow and warm exhaust after hours of continuous load, but the 65 W CPU keeps heat output moderate for a desktop this size.

What must I already own to use the included 24″ FHD IPS all-in-one display?

Nothing extra — the monitor, USB keyboard and USB mouse are bundled, and Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, so the system works straight out of the box.
