Ready-to-Work Ultrabook

This 14.0" Lenovo ThinkPad T480 or T490 ships new with Windows 11 Pro installed. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor runs at 1.8GHz alongside 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. The non-touch FHD IPS panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution through integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. An OEM 45W or 65W AC adapter is included.

Mobile Professionals Needing Proven Ports

Buyers who want a lightweight business laptop with a full set of legacy and modern connections will appreciate the three USB 3.1 ports, one USB-C port, HDMI output and built-in RJ-45 Ethernet. Wireless uses Intel dual-band Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.1. This unit is not for users who require a touchscreen, a discrete graphics card or a larger display for creative colour work.

Straightforward Setup With One Variable

Power on, accept the Windows 11 Pro licence and the machine is ready — no driver hunting required. The only common friction is that the exact chassis you receive may be either the T480 at roughly 3.6 lbs or the slightly lighter T490, so dock alignment and sleeve fit can differ from the stock photos shown.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel Core i7-8550U require a specific power adapter wattage to run at full speed?

The unit ships with an OEM AC adapter rated at 45W or 65W, either of which will power the i7-8550U and charge the battery under normal workloads.

Will my existing USB 3.0 Type-A flash drives and HDMI monitor work with the USB 3.1 and HDMI ports on this ThinkPad?

Yes, the three USB 3.1 Type-A ports are backward-compatible with USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices, and the HDMI port drives external monitors at up to 1920 x 1080 without adapters.

How can I verify the 16 GB DDR4 memory and 512 GB SSD are recognised correctly after first boot?

Open Task Manager → Performance tab to confirm 16 GB DDR4 shows under Memory and 512 GB appears under Disk; Windows 10 Pro or 11 Pro will also list both in Settings → System → About.
