Questions about this item

How does the 1.8 GHz quad-core i7-8550U perform in everyday workloads?

The processor runs at 1.8 GHz with four cores and 8 MB L2 cache, delivering responsive multitasking for office apps, web browsing and video calls on Windows 11 Pro.

What does the USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface cap at for this laptop?

The three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports each support up to 5 Gb/s, so external SSDs or docks are limited to that bandwidth in practice.

What are the exact dimensions I need to check for a sleeve or dock?

The T490 measures 12.7 x 8.5 x 0.7 inches and weighs about 3.2 lbs, so any 14-inch sleeve or dock must accommodate those figures.
