Suited for mobile professionals needing integrated

This configuration suits professionals who need a lightweight 14" business laptop with quad-core performance, 16 GB memory and 1 TB solid-state storage for office applications and video calls. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics processor, a touchscreen panel or a larger display should look at other models.

1 TB SSD and 16 GB DDR4 define the storage tier

The single specification that decides fit is the 1 TB SSD paired with 16 GB DDR4 RAM. This capacity tier covers most business workloads without requiring an immediate drive upgrade. If your workflow demands more than 1 TB of internal storage or more than 16 GB of memory, this unit will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-8650U is running at its 4.20 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab and watch the CPU clock rise to 4.20 GHz while a heavy load runs.

What comes in the box and which items such as a docking station or external monitor must be purchased separately?

The package includes the ThinkPad T480s, an OEM AC adapter and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed; any dock, monitor or extra cable is sold separately.

Should I choose the 1 TB SSD configuration or a smaller 512 GB or 256 GB drive for this model?

The 1 TB SSD gives the most space for large projects and local files; pick 512 GB or 256 GB only if you store most data in the cloud.
