Suits mobile workers needing integrated graphics

The integrated Intel UHD 620 and 24GB RAM ceiling suit general business applications, web workloads and light multitasking. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering, gaming or GPU compute, or who require user-upgradeable memory beyond the fitted 24GB, should look at alternative configurations.

The processor reaches 4.60 GHz turbo across four cores with 8MB Smart Cache, delivering responsive performance for typical business tasks while the 1TB NVMe SSD keeps boot and application load times short.

Questions about this item

What are the physical dimensions and weight of the T490?

The chassis measures 13 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 1 inch high, and it weighs 4 pounds, so it fits standard 14-inch laptop sleeves and backpacks.

How is the 24GB DDR4 memory installed, and what step is often missed?

The 24GB DDR4 SODIMM modules are already installed; if you ever upgrade, insert each stick at a 45-degree angle until it clicks, then press down firmly until the side latches lock — skipping the final press leaves the module loose.

What maintenance does the 50WHr 3-cell battery need over time?

The integrated 50WHr 3-cell battery is not user-replaceable; keep the charge between 20 and 80 percent when possible and run Lenovo Vantage battery calibration once a year to maintain health.
