12-Pack 2.1 mm × 5.5 mm Barrel Cables

This twelve-pack supplies male-to-male DC barrel cables with a 2.1 mm centre pin and 5.5 mm outer sleeve. Each lead is 20 inches long and carries black and red pre-tinned conductors. The cables suit CCTV cameras, DVR units, rear-view monitors and LED strip lighting that use the same barrel size.

Braided 12 V 3 A Construction

The braided jacket protects the conductors during routing and repeated handling. Rated for 12 volts and 3 amps, the assembly delivers steady current without the voltage drop seen on thinner, non-braided pigtails under continuous load. Pre-tinned ends speed up soldering and reduce the risk of cold joints in permanent installs.

20-Inch Length and Fixed Connector Geometry

At 20 inches the cables reach most panel-mounted power distribution boxes without excess slack, yet they can be trimmed where runs are shorter. The fixed 2.1 mm × 5.5 mm barrel diameter and centre-positive polarity mean the leads only fit devices built to that exact specification; equipment with locking connectors, screw terminals or different pin dimensions will require a different adapter.

Questions about this item

Does the 20 inch cable run warm when carrying 3 amps continuously?

The cable is rated for 3 amps at 12 volts, so normal continuous loads within that rating should not cause noticeable heating.

What power source must I already have to use these male barrel connectors?

You need a 12 V DC supply or adapter with a matching 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm female jack to plug each pigtail into.

Will these 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm plugs fit the power input on my older CCTV cameras?

Yes, the centre-positive 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm barrel is the standard size used by most legacy CCD and CCTV cameras.
