  • Holds 16 drives in two 5.25 bays for dense RAID storage
  • SAS 12Gbps and SATA 6Gbps support per drive for fast throughput
  • 80mm fan moves high airflow at low noise for cool operation
  • Three-speed fan control lets you balance cooling and silence
  • Four SATA power cables feed all bays from one PSU

16-bay SAS/SATA mobile rack

The LORDWORLD ToughArmor MB516SP-B installs 16 drives from 5mm to 7mm thick into two 5.25-inch bays. It accepts both SATA 6Gbps and SAS 12Gbps devices on a single channel. The enclosure targets high-performance RAID arrays that need dense 2.5-inch storage in a standard front-panel footprint.

80mm adjustable fan cooling

A large 80mm fan moves a high volume of air through the fully metal chassis while staying quiet. Three hardware switches let you choose high, low or off to match workload and noise tolerance. All 16 bays draw power from four 15-pin SATA cables, keeping cabling contained inside the case.

Tool-less trays and MiniSAS HD links

Each drive slides into a lockable tray without screws for fast swaps during rebuilds or upgrades. Four MiniSAS HD connectors on the rear carry data to the controller, supporting the single-channel 12Gbps SAS or 6Gbps SATA link. The all-metal construction protects drives and maintains alignment under vibration.

Questions about this item

How do I install the ToughArmor MB516SP-B into two 5.25 bays and connect the drives?

Slide the unit into two external 5.25 bays, secure it with screws, insert up to 16 x 2.5 SATA or SAS drives (5mm to 7mm thick), connect four 15-pin SATA power cables, and link the four MiniSAS HD ports to your RAID controller.

What maintenance will the 80mm cooling fan need over time?

The fan is user-adjustable with high, low, and off settings; clean dust from the blades and intake vents periodically, and replace the fan if bearing noise appears or airflow drops.

Which limit appears first when all 16 bays run sustained workloads?

The four MiniSAS HD links each carry a single SAS 12Gbps or SATA 6Gbps channel, so total host bandwidth caps at four lanes before individual drive limits are reached.
