Transparent NVMe Enclosure for M-Key SSDs

This LUOM enclosure turns a PCIe NVMe M-Key M.2 drive into a portable USB-C device. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors up to 2TB. The clear PC shell lets you confirm which drive is fitted without opening the case.

Tool-Free Install with Aluminium Heat Plate

No tools are required; the drive slides in and locks within minutes. A JMS583 controller drives the USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C link at up to 10 Gbps, with UASP and TRIM support. One side uses an aluminium alloy plate and thermal pads to draw heat away from the SSD.

Check Your Drive Is NVMe M-Key Before Buying

This adapter only works with NVMe PCIe M-Key SSDs such as the Intel 660p or Samsung 970 EVO and 970 Pro. It will not accept SATA-based B-Key, M&B-Key, AHCI or mSATA M.2 drives. Verify your drive keying and protocol match the supported list.

Which cables and accessories are included, and is a screwdriver needed for assembly?

The package contains the transparent NVMe enclosure, a Type-C to Type-C cable, and a USB-A to Type-C cable; installation is tool-free and requires no screwdriver.

My SSD is an M-key NVMe model in 2280 form factor — will this enclosure support it, or do I need a different version?

This enclosure is built for M-key NVMe PCIe SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes up to 2 TB, so your 2280 drive is fully supported.
