Questions about this item

Will the 12 V / 2 A power adapter need replacing if it fails?

The kit includes a 12 V 2 A power supply; if it fails you would need to source an equivalent 12 V 2 A unit with the same barrel connector.

What speed ceiling appears first during long transfers?

SATA drives hit the USB 3.0 5 Gbps ceiling, while IDE drives are limited to 133 Mbps.

How warm does the adapter get when a 3.5" drive runs all day?

The ABS housing has no active cooling; sustained use with a 3.5" drive will make it noticeably warm to the touch.
