HDMI Audio Extractor for 4K Sources

The LUOM OZV8-1A splits one HDMI input into a mirrored HDMI output plus separate audio paths. It feeds a soundbar, amplifier or headphones while the display stays off. The box supports 4K at 60 Hz and passes 3D signals with HDCP 2.2 compliance.

Bandwidth and Format Limits at 18 Gbps

The 18 Gbps link caps video at 3840 x 2160 resolution and 60 Hz refresh. HDR 10 and RGB 8:8:8 colour pass through, but higher refresh rates or 8K signals are not supported. Audio extraction handles DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, LPCM 7.1, DTS and Dolby AC-3, while Dolby Digital Plus is not supported.

ARC Support Decides System Compatibility

The built-in Audio Return Channel lets a compatible TV send its internal app audio back through the same HDMI cable to the extractor. If your display lacks ARC, that return path will not work and you must source audio from the player instead.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 3.5 mm or the SPDIF output for my soundbar?

Use the 3.5 mm jack for stereo PCM up to 2.0 CH and the SPDIF optical port for compressed 5.1 CH formats such as DTS or Dolby AC‑3; both work simultaneously.

What does the 18 Gbps bandwidth mean when I connect a 4K 60 Hz source?

It carries the full 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 signal without compression while extracting audio to the optical and 3.5 mm ports.

Does the HDMI port support ARC and what does that cap?

The HDMI output includes ARC so audio from a TV app can return through the extractor to the SPDIF or 3.5 mm outputs, limited to the formats the extractor decodes.
