HDMI 2.0 Audio Extractor with ARC

The LUOM OZV8 extracts audio from an HDMI 2.0 signal and provides separate optical SPDIF and 3.5 mm analogue outputs. It accepts one HDMI input up to 4K at 60 Hz and passes the video through an HDMI output. The unit includes a 5 V power adapter and an HDMI cable. EDID switches select pass-through, two-channel or 5.1-channel audio modes.

Bundled cable and power adapter simplify

The supplied HDMI cable connects the source directly without an extra purchase. The 5 V 1 A adapter powers the extractor so it operates reliably with 18 Gbps bandwidth. Both SPDIF and 3.5 mm outputs can drive a soundbar, amplifier or headphones independently of the display. A manual explains the EDID switch positions for each audio format.

18 Gbps bandwidth decides 4K 60 Hz capability

The 18 Gbps limit supports 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, 1080p at 120 Hz and 144 Hz, plus deep colour up to 36 bit. HDCP 2.2 and HDR10 pass through unchanged. Buyers needing 4K at 120 Hz or 8K resolution must choose a higher-bandwidth device. The extractor does not work with Bluetooth headsets.
