6 ft Toslink Cable for Home Audio

The LUOM T001A is a 6 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable designed to connect sound bars, TVs, game consoles and home-theatre receivers. It carries uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1 to 7.1 surround formats including Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD. Gold-plated male-to-male connectors resist corrosion and ensure a tight fit. The double braided nylon jacket protects the fibre core during routing.

Replaces Basic Plastic Optical Leads

Swap this cable for a standard plastic Toslink lead when you need tighter beam focus and lower insertion loss over short runs. The high-precision concentrated fibre lens reduces internal reflection so multi-channel Dolby AC-3 and DTS decoding stays clean. The jump is worth it when the existing link drops audio or shows intermittent sync on 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 streams.

Handles Multi-Channel Surround with Headroom

The 6 ft length comfortably spans typical TV-to-sound-bar or console-to-receiver distances while supporting 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 surround. Bandwidth runs out before very long runs or professional studio installations that exceed short-range optical limits. The 2.2 mm and 5.0 mm outer diameters suit consumer ports but not heavy industrial conduit pulls.

Questions about this item

What connector size and gender does the 6 ft LUOM T001A use?

It uses square male Toslink connectors on both ends with 24K gold-plated tips.

How do I align the square plug correctly during installation?

The precision square connector only fits one way; rotate until the keyed corner seats fully before pushing straight in.

When should I replace this optical cable?

Replace it if the fiber core is kinked, the braided nylon jacket frays, or the gold tips show corrosion that cleaning cannot remove.
