Capacity and Form Factor

The Minuteman PRO1000RT2UNC is a line-interactive UPS rated at 1000 VA and 700 W, delivering 120 V AC output from a 120 V AC input. It fits a 2U rack profile and can also be installed as a tower or wall-mounted unit, making it suitable for network closets, small server rooms or desktop workstations that need battery backup with surge protection.

Installation Requirements

Verify that the site provides a NEMA 5-15P receptacle on a 120 V circuit and that the connected equipment draws no more than 700 W total. The UPS accepts an input range of 90 V to 150 V at 60 Hz and offers eight NEMA 5-15R outlets plus RJ11, RJ45 and coaxial data-line protection. Operating temperature must stay between 0 °C and 40 °C with humidity up to 95 % non-condensing.

Runtime Under Load

At full 700 W load the internal valve-regulated lead-acid battery provides approximately 4 minutes of backup, extending to about 15 minutes at half load. Transfer time to battery is 10 ms, and the surge energy rating is 960 joules. The unit is not designed for extended runtime applications or for loads exceeding the rated wattage.

Questions about this item

What does the package include and what extra items might I need?

The box contains the UPS unit and a network card. Cables for the protected equipment are not included, so you will need appropriate power cords for each device you connect.

Which capacity is right for my load — the 1000 VA or the 700 W rating?

Use the 700 W figure to size your load; it is the real power limit. The 1000 VA rating describes apparent power and will be higher than the wattage for most equipment.

What does the 4-minute runtime at full load mean in practice?

At the full 700 W load the battery lasts about 4 minutes, enough to save work and shut down safely. At half load the runtime extends to roughly 15 minutes.
