Rugged 14-inch Multi-Touch Laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is a semi-rugged laptop built for field professionals who need a durable Windows 10 Pro device. It combines a 14.0 inch Full HD multi-touch display with an Intel Core i5-5300U processor, 8GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Integrated 4G LTE, GPS, a smartcard reader and a fingerprint reader support mobile workflows.

Field Workers Needing Integrated Connectivity

This unit suits utility crews, first responders and survey teams who rely on FirstNet-ready LTE, dedicated GPS and hardware-based authentication in wet or dusty environments. Buyers who need a fanless silent design, a lighter ultrabook for office travel or a machine for modern 3D rendering should look at something else.

2TB Storage With 16GB Memory Ceiling

The 2TB SSD provides ample room for offline maps, large case files and local databases without external drives. Memory tops out at 16GB, so heavy virtualisation or simultaneous memory-hungry applications will hit a ceiling. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles desktop productivity and video playback but not modern GPU compute tasks.

Questions about this item

What existing infrastructure does the 4G LTE FirstNet modem need to provide mobile broadband?

An active nano-SIM with a data plan on a FirstNet-compatible carrier network is required for the 4G LTE modem to connect.

Can the Intel HD Graphics 5500 drive an external monitor while the built-in 1920 x 1080 touchscreen stays on?

Yes, the HD Graphics 5500 supports extended desktop across the internal panel and an external display via the HDMI or VGA port.

How do I verify the GPS receiver is acquiring satellites after first boot?

Open the pre-installed Panasonic GPS utility or Windows Maps; a live latitude/longitude read-out confirms the receiver has a fix.
