Straight-to-right-angle SATA cable
The SATACables 30SR787YL is a SATA III internal cable with a straight connector on one end and a right-angle connector on the other. It links a motherboard host port to a Serial ATA hard drive, optical drive or other SATA device. The yellow jacket measures between 31 and 35 inches and uses a narrow profile to improve airflow inside the case.
Upgrade from older SATA cables
This cable replaces SATA I or SATA II interconnects that limit throughput to 1.5 or 3.0 Gbps. The jump is worth it when a solid-state drive or modern hard drive can saturate the 6.0 Gbps ceiling of the SATA 3.0 specification. Builders still using first- or second-generation cables on 6 Gbps ports will see the full device speed only after swapping to this revision 3.0 link.
Fits standard SATA ports with locking latches
Both connectors carry the SATA III locking latch so the link stays seated during transport or vibration. The right-angle plug eases routing behind drive cages or along motherboard edges where a straight plug would press against the case wall. No extra adapters or power connections are required beyond the standard SATA data and power headers already present on the board and drive.

Questions about this item
How much clearance does the right-angle SATA connector need behind a 3.5-inch drive bay?
The right-angle plug sits flush against the drive's SATA port, so you only need the depth of the connector itself — roughly the width of the port — behind the drive for the cable to route cleanly.
Which side of the locking latch engages first when plugging the straight end into a motherboard port?
Insert the straight connector squarely until both sides of the latch click simultaneously; pushing one corner first can leave the opposite latch unseated and cause intermittent detection.
When should the cable be replaced if the system is moved frequently?
Inspect the latch arms and strain relief after every move; replace the cable if either latch no longer clicks firmly or if the yellow jacket shows kinks or exposed shielding near the plugs.
