Combines a 7-pin SATA data cable with a 15-pin to 4-pin Molex power adapter for drives up to 3.0 Gbps
This 5-inch cable combines a 7-pin SATA data connector with a 15-pin SATA to 4-pin LP4 power adapter. It connects Serial ATA drives to a controller and an existing power supply. The narrow design improves internal airflow inside the case.
The cable supports data transfer up to 3.0 Gbps and 150 MBytes/sec. It works with both 3.5 inch and 2.5 inch Serial ATA hard drives. Builders needing faster interface speeds should select a different cable.
The data segment uses the 7-pin SATA architecture for a thin, flexible profile. The integrated adapter converts a 15-pin SATA power connection to a standard 4-pin Molex plug. Keyed connectors prevent bent pins during installation.

This cable measures 5 inches, so it is intended for tight spaces such as mini tower computers or 2.5 inch drives where a short run keeps airflow clear.
The 3.0 Gbps headline translates to about 150 MBytes/sec in real-world transfers, matching the SATA 150 specification for mechanical drives.
The 7-pin SATA data segment caps the connection at 3.0 Gbps, so even if the controller supports faster modes the cable will not exceed that rate.
