Purpose-built interior folders

Smead 10230 interior file folders are designed to sit inside hanging folders and keep papers separated when the hanging folder is lifted from the drawer. Each box contains 100 letter-size folders made from 11-pt manila stock.

Straightforward insertion and tab alignment

The folders slide into standard hanging files without covering the vinyl index tabs on the outer folder. Tabs are low-profile and come in assorted 1/3-cut positions so several interior folders can share one hanging folder. Scored for three-quarter-inch expansion, they accept growing document sets without jamming. Single-ply tabs and an undercut front panel keep the profile thin, reducing snag risk when folders are removed or replaced.

Ideal for multi-category filing within one drawer

Offices that need to split a single hanging folder into distinct sections will find these folders fit the workflow. Buyers who need standalone folders for open-shelf use or who require heavier stock for frequent handling should look at other options. The manila colour and 11-pt weight suit routine internal sorting rather than high-visibility or archival demands.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the folders are scored for 3/4-inch expansion after opening the box?

Each folder shows a visible crease line along the sides; when you press the front panel outward it should stay open at roughly three-quarters of an inch without tearing the 11-pt stock.

What comes in the box and do I need to buy hanging folders separately?

The box contains 100 manila interior folders model 10230 with 1/3-cut top tabs and scored expansion; hanging folders are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which tab cut should I choose if I want multiple interior folders inside one hanging folder?

The 1/3-cut top tab positions let you stagger up to three folders side by side so their tabs remain visible under the hanging folder's vinyl tab.
