50 ft 8K DisplayPort 1.4 fiber cable

This 50 ft DisplayPort 1.4 fiber optic cable links a PC or laptop to a monitor, projector or HDTV. It carries 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and lower resolutions up to 240 Hz. The cable suits gamers and professionals who need a long run without signal loss.

Bandwidth ceiling and compression

HBR3 provides 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and the link uses Display Stream Compression 1.2 to reach the highest resolutions. The cable is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1, so older ports work at their native limits. Lengths beyond this spec would require active repeaters not included here.

Gold-plated connectors and slim build

Each end has a 24K gold-plated DisplayPort plug that resists corrosion and secures the internal optical engine. The fiber construction stays slim and flexible for routing through tight spaces. The cable is not rated for in-wall installation or outdoor exposure.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 50 ft length for my 8K@60Hz setup?

Yes, the 50 ft fiber cable carries the full 32.4 Gbps HBR3 bandwidth needed for 8K 7680x4320 at 60 Hz without the signal loss that copper suffers at this distance.

Will 32.4 Gbps actually deliver 8K@60Hz and 4K@144Hz on my GPU?

The HBR3 link provides 32.4 Gbps; with DSC 1.2 the cable supports 8K 7680x4320 at 60 Hz, 4K 3840x2160 at 144 Hz, and 2K 2550x1440 at 240 Hz as listed.

Does the DP 1.4 interface cap resolution or refresh rate compared to newer standards?

DisplayPort 1.4 with HBR3 and DSC 1.2 drives 8K@60Hz, 4K@240Hz and 1080P@240Hz; it is backwards compatible with DP 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1.
