20-metre optical DisplayPort 1.4 cable

This 20-metre optical cable carries DisplayPort 1.4 signals up to 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz. It is built for users who need a reliable long run between a source device and a display without signal loss.

Direction-locked connectors prevent mis-connection

The cable has a marked "Source" end for the computer or laptop and a "Display" end for the monitor, projector or TV. Reversing the ends stops the link from working, so the labelling removes guesswork during setup.

Fibre construction eases routing through tight

The optical fibre core is thinner and lighter than copper equivalents, making it easier to pull through conduit or behind furniture. The fixed directional ends mean the cable must be planned before installation; it cannot be flipped if the route changes.

Questions about this item

Will the optical fiber or connectors need replacement after extended use?

The cable uses fiber-optic transmission with gold-plated DisplayPort 1.4 connectors rated for long-distance 8K@60Hz and 4K@144Hz signals; no user-serviceable parts are inside.

What is the maximum length before signal quality drops at 8K resolution?

This 20 m (65.6 ft) optical cable is specified for 8K@60Hz and 4K@144Hz without signal loss; longer runs are not supported by this model.

Does the cable generate heat or draw extra power during all-day 8K@60Hz operation?

As a passive fiber-optic cable it adds no active electronics, so it produces no measurable heat and requires no external power beyond the DisplayPort source.
