Converts a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot into dual OCuLink SFF-8611/SFF-8612 x8 ports for NVMe RAID or external GPU expansion with Intel VROC support
This adapter converts a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot into two OCuLink SFF-8611/SFF-8612 x8 ports. It targets builders adding NVMe storage arrays or external GPU links to workstations and servers. The card requires a motherboard that supports x8/x8 PCIe bifurcation to function. Buyers without bifurcation support cannot use this device.
The unit is a passive circuit board with no active cooling components or fans. It draws negligible power from the PCIe slot itself and adds no audible noise to the system. Thermal performance depends entirely on the airflow provided by the host chassis. No external power connectors are present on the adapter.
Intel VROC compatibility enables hardware RAID across connected NVMe drives when the platform allows. The optimised signal circuit maintains link stability over longer cable runs to drive enclosures or eGPU docks. Backward compatibility with PCIe 3.0 hosts preserves function on older platforms at reduced bandwidth. No software utilities or drivers are bundled with the card.

No published specifications for this item yet.
Insert the adapter into a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, then enable x8/x8 bifurcation in the motherboard BIOS; without this setting the second OCuLink port will not be detected.
No scheduled maintenance is required; only the OCuLink cables or connected NVMe drives may need replacement if they fail or are upgraded.
The PCIe 4.0 x16 host link caps total throughput at 16 GT/s, so combined traffic from both x8 ports cannot exceed that bandwidth ceiling.
