Converts a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot into two independent SlimSAS SFF-8654 8i ports for NVMe, SAS and SATA storage expansion
This adapter converts a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot into two independent SlimSAS SFF-8654 8i ports. Each port runs at x8 lanes for direct connection to U.2 NVMe SSDs or SAS and SATA storage devices. It targets server and workstation builders who need high-density storage expansion without using multiple slots.
The card delivers full PCIe 4.0 bandwidth up to 256Gbps at 16GT/s per lane while remaining backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 and 2.0 systems. Bifurcation support allows x16 to split into 2×x8 or 4×x4 configurations. The jump is worth it when your platform supports bifurcation and you need more than one high-speed NVMe device per slot.
Confirm your motherboard or riser provides a mechanical x16 slot with electrical x16 wiring and that the BIOS or UEFI exposes bifurcation settings for 2×x8 or 4×x4 operation. The standard bracket is full-height; a low-profile bracket may be required for compact chassis. No driver installation is needed for Windows, Linux or VMware environments.

The card ships with a standard full-height bracket and a low-profile bracket is available as an option for smaller chassis.
Enable PCIe bifurcation in the motherboard firmware and select the x16 to 2×x8 mode so each port receives eight lanes.
Turn on retiming in the adapter firmware when cable length approaches the PCIe 4.0 spec limit to maintain 16 GT/s per lane stability.
