4K HDBaseT Extender with ARC

The v AV Access 4KEX70-ARC-H2 transmits uncompressed 4K video at 60 Hz up to 40 metres over a single Cat X cable. It includes HDMI audio return channel support and S/PDIF pass-through for surround sound. Bi-directional IR, CEC and RS-232 control signals travel alongside the video stream. Power over cable lets one adapter supply both the transmitter and receiver units.

Check your cabling and source

Verify you have solid-core Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a/7 cable rated for the required distance. The source must output HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 for 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 signals. Confirm the display supports ARC if you plan to use the audio return function. Ensure the DIP switch on the receiver matches your chosen audio path.

Integrates into a distributed AV system

The extender pair replaces long HDMI runs with a single Ethernet cable, freeing conduit space and reducing cable bulk. It delivers 18 Gbps bandwidth with HDR10 support for compatible sources. PoC eliminates the need for a local power outlet at the display end. IR and RS-232 pass-through lets the control system manage sources and displays from either location.

Questions about this item

Does the kit include the Cat5e/6/7 cable needed for the 40 m 4K@60 Hz link, or must it be purchased separately?

The Cat5e/6/7 cable is not included; you must supply a single Cat X cable up to 40 m for 4K@60 Hz 4:4:4 or 70 m for 1080p.

Should I choose the version that reaches 35 m or 40 m at 4K@60 Hz 4:4:4?

With Cat5e/6 the 4K@60 Hz 4:4:4 distance is 35 m; with Cat6a/7 it extends to 40 m. Select the cable grade that matches your required run length.

What does the 18 Gbps bandwidth figure mean for HDR playback on my TV?

The 18 Gbps bandwidth carries 4K@60 Hz 4:4:4 8-bit with HDR10 and HDCP 2.2, so HDR content passes without compression over the 40 m link.
