Velztorm Pilum Gaming Desktop

The Velztorm Pilum is a pre-built gaming desktop featuring an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, 64GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It ships with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card and Windows 10 Pro. The system targets players who want a ready-to-use machine for 1080p gaming and multitasking.

Upgrade path from entry systems

This configuration replaces a basic office PC or an older pre-built that relies on integrated graphics and 8GB to 16GB of RAM. The jump is worth it when you need consistent frame rates in modern titles at 1080p and enough memory to keep background apps open while gaming. Buyers who want more storage than the single 1TB drive provides should look at the larger-capacity options offered for this chassis.

GTX 1660 Super 6GB GDDR6 limits

The GTX 1660 Super delivers 6GB GDDR6 memory and DirectX 12 support, making it suitable for high-refresh 1080p play in most current games. It does not support hardware-accelerated ray tracing or AI upscaling technologies found on newer architectures. The 750W power supply and 120mm AIO liquid cooler give headroom for the existing components but do not guarantee compatibility with significantly larger graphics cards.

Questions about this item

What case clearance is required for the 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler?

The 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler needs a case with a 120mm fan mounting point and enough space for the radiator and tubing to sit without bending sharply.

How is the 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

The 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD slots into an M.2 connector on the motherboard and is secured with a small screw; the step often missed is fastening that screw so the drive stays firmly seated.

What maintenance will the AIO liquid CPU cooler need later?

The sealed 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler is maintenance-free for its service life; if the pump eventually fails or coolant degrades, the whole unit is replaced rather than refilled.
