Converts composite video and stereo audio from legacy devices to HDMI at up to 1080p 60 Hz with USB power
This Vszerda adapter turns composite video and stereo audio from older consoles, VCRs or DVD players into a standard HDMI signal. It accepts PAL, NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.43, SECAM, PAL/M and PAL/N formats and outputs either 1080p or 720p at 60 Hz. No drivers are required; the unit is powered from a USB port.
The enclosure measures 66 by 55 by 20 mm and weighs 40 g, so it tucks behind a TV or monitor without straining the HDMI socket. A short USB lead supplies power from any 5 V source such as a TV USB port or phone charger. One set of yellow, white and red RCA jacks handles input; a single full-size HDMI port carries the converted signal out.
It replaces plugging yellow, white and red cables straight into a legacy TV or capture card that still has composite inputs. The jump is worthwhile when the display only offers HDMI or when a cleaner digital path reduces noise on long cable runs. It will not help buyers who need S-Video, component or SCART sources, nor those who require upscaling beyond 1080p.
