Connects 2.5" and 3.5" SATA or IDE hard drives, SSDs and optical drives via USB 3.0 Type-C or USB-A with 12 V 2 A power, reaching 5 Gbps transfer speed
This Vszerda kit connects 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA and IDE hard drives, SSDs or optical drives to a host computer through USB 3.0 Type C or USB-A. It supports drives up to 6 TB and operates on Windows 10, 11, Mac OS and Linux without driver installation. A 12 V 2 A power adapter and a Molex to SATA power cable are included for 3.5 inch devices.
The adapter suits technicians and home users who need to read legacy IDE disks or swap SATA drives quickly. It can run one SATA and one IDE drive at the same time, but cannot power two IDE drives simultaneously. Buyers who need simultaneous dual IDE operation or internal chassis mounting should consider other solutions.
The single specification that decides fit is the USB 3.0 Type C connection supporting up to 5 Gbps with UASP acceleration. Actual throughput depends on the attached drive and host controller. The kit is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports.

Plug the 4-pin Molex from the 12V 2A power adapter into the converter, then attach the converter's SATA power plug to the drive; the 3.5" IDE data connector attaches directly to the adapter.
The 2-in-1 USB-A and USB-C data cable and the 4-pin Molex-to-SATA power converter are the items most likely to wear out with repeated hot-swap cycles.
The USB 3.0 Type-C interface caps throughput at 5 Gbps, and actual speed will vary with the connected drive's performance.
