Quad-Core i7-8650U Under Load

The Intel Core i7-8650U runs four cores with 8 MB L2 cache and turbo speeds up to 4.20 GHz. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles baseline visual output without a discrete GPU. Sustained performance relies on the rugged chassis thermal design rather than high airflow.

Windows 11 Pro and Connectivity

The laptop ships with Windows 11 Professional 64-bit installed on the 256 GB SSD. Ports include USB 3.0, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, serial and RJ-45 for legacy and modern peripherals. Buyers who need more storage or discrete graphics for rendering should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How much power does the Intel Core i7-8650U draw and how does the rugged chassis handle heat during all-day use?

The quad-core processor runs at up to 4.20 GHz inside a chassis built for harsh environments; the internal fan and rugged thermal design keep temperatures stable under sustained load.

Which ports and memory standard must my existing peripherals and modules match to work with this Latitude 5424?

It provides USB 3.0, USB Type C, HDMI, DisplayPort, Serial and RJ-45, and uses DDR4 memory; your devices and any added RAM must support those interfaces.

Will the Intel UHD Graphics 620 and Windows 11 Pro drive my older 1080p monitors and legacy serial equipment?

Yes — the integrated GPU supports 1920 x 1080 output over HDMI and DisplayPort, Windows 11 Pro maintains compatibility with legacy serial ports, and the RJ-45 jack works with existing wired networks.
