The 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor runs at speeds up to 3.60 GHz with 6MB L2 cache. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output on the 1920 x 1080 panel. System memory is 8GB DDR4 paired with a 512GB SSD for storage. This configuration suits mobile workers running business applications in rugged settings.

Questions about this item

How does the i5-8350U's 3.60 GHz turbo speed behave when the 5424 is running a sustained workload?

The quad-core i5-8350U can reach 3.60 GHz on short bursts, but the rugged chassis manages thermals for steady performance during long field shifts rather than peak sprint speeds.

What practical bandwidth limit does the USB 3.0 and USB Type-C mix impose on external drives?

USB 3.0 caps at 5 Gbps, so large file transfers to external SSDs will hit that ceiling even if the drive itself is faster.

What mounting holes or brackets does the 14.0-inch rugged chassis provide for vehicle or pole installation?

The 5424 includes standard rugged-mount patterns compatible with Dell vehicle docks and third-party pole brackets for fixed installations.
