14.0" Touchscreen Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a compact ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a responsive touch display and Windows 11 Pro out of the box. Its quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor and 32 GB of DDR4 memory deliver smooth multitasking for office suites, browser-heavy workflows and video conferencing. The 512 GB SSD provides fast boot times and enough space for local project files.

Quad-Core i7-8650U with 32 GB DDR4

The processor runs at 1.9 GHz base frequency with a turbo boost up to 4.2 GHz across four cores and eight threads. Combined with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, this configuration handles heavy spreadsheet calculations, multiple virtual machines and large creative assets without swapping to disk. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen for crisp visuals.

512 GB SSD Storage and Port Selection

The solid-state drive offers 512 GB of capacity for the operating system, applications and a substantial working library of documents. Connectivity includes HDMI, DisplayPort over USB Type-C with optional Thunderbolt, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one with PowerShare), RJ45, VGA and an SD card reader. Buyers needing more than 512 GB of internal storage or a discrete graphics card should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How does the i7-8650U's 4.20 GHz boost clock behave once the laptop is under sustained load?

The quad-core i7-8650U can reach 4.20 GHz on short bursts, but thermals in this 14.0" chassis will pull clocks back during long renders or compiles.

What does the USB Type-C port with DisplayPort actually support for external monitors?

The USB Type-C port carries DisplayPort video; it can drive one external display, and Thunderbolt is listed as optional on this unit.

Will the 14.8" width and 0.9" height fit in a standard 15.6" laptop sleeve?

At 14.8" wide and 0.9" thick the 5590 slides into most 15.6" sleeves, though the 9.87" depth means a snug fit in tighter bags.
