Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor running at 1.70 GHz. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is installed and ready to use.

Suits office workers needing a light.

This configuration serves users who want a thin-and-light notebook with a 1920 x 1080 IPS display for document work, email and web apps. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles standard business visuals only.

Ports and connectivity shape daily workflow

Three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports include one with PowerShare for charging devices while the laptop sleeps. A USB Type-C port carries DisplayPort video out, and an optional Thunderbolt mode is listed. HDMI, VGA, RJ45, an SD slot and a Noble Wedge lock slot round out the physical connections.

Questions about this item

What existing laptop power adapter can I reuse with the 5590's proprietary charging port?

Only a Dell barrel-style adapter that matches the 5590's specific voltage and pin layout will fit the dedicated power jack; USB-C charging is not supported on this model.

Will my older VGA projector connect directly to this laptop?

Yes, the built-in VGA port accepts a standard VGA cable from legacy projectors or monitors without any adapter.

How can I confirm the quad-core i5-8350U is reaching its 3.60 GHz turbo speed under load?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab while running a heavy task; the CPU frequency graph should show speeds climbing toward 3.60 GHz on all four cores.
